After being in Banff for nearly two weeks, we were itching to get back on the road.  Our first stop was a two night dry camping stay at the Athabasca Glacier on the Columbia Icefields Parkway.   RVs can park overnight at the visitor center directly across from the glacier.

The glacier has receded more than 1.5 kilometers.  It actually reached the point where this picture was taken.

We took a walk on the glacier.  The only way you can do this is to take one of the ice buses or a private guided walk.

Check out Craig’s video about our visit to the glacier.

We left the Columbia Icefields and headed to Jasper National Park.   Unfortunately, we could only get two nights in Jasper so we wanted to make the most of it.  We took a hike around Maligne Canyon and it was definitely worth it.

We ended the day with a rainbow

There was so much to see and do in Jasper.  We’ll have to come back to explore.
